emergence

We are works in progress. We add layers upon layers and as the new mixes with the marks of things that have come before – the places we’ve lived, the things we’ve experienced, the people in our lives – we continue to emerge. The process through which this body of work was created – adding and removing layers, obscuring and rediscovering form, erasing and reforming features – mirrors the process of our own emergence.
